Enchanting coffees still come from the country where coffee originally comes from; like this floral honey-sweet Sasaba from the Guji region.
In the south of Ethiopia, in the West Guji Zone of the Oromia region, Tsegay Hagos decided to build two washing stations, of which Sasaba is one. Some 500 small-scale coffee farmers have been producing coffee here for many generations on the fertile land in the area, often higher than 2000 meters above sea level.
The coffee shrubs grow in the shade of existing trees and planted by the farmers type of banana plant without bananas. Sasaba works together with the more experienced producers and thus work on high quality with a price premium. Our partner and Ethiopia specialist Trabocca has been working with Tsegay and therefore Sasaba since 2013 so that we can enjoy this beautiful coffee .
The result is fantastic, this 2020 crop is one of the tastiest, most floral crops of Ethiopian coffees we've tasted in ages. Perfect to really enjoy yourself.
