Pour Over brewing method made out of ceramic, a favorite of many baristas and as seen at many coffeeshops. This dripper kickstarted a renewed enthusiasm for filtered coffee.

This dripper uses separately available filters

You may know Japan mostly from its teas, but it’s a country dead serious about coffee as well. Combine that with a particular sense of design, and you get the tools from Hario. Hario has been building the best tools for coffee for years.

The V60, named after the angle of the conical dripper, makes with some patience and dedication genius coffee. This is particularly because of the unique design with which coffee is evenly extracted over the whole bed. The inside features ridges that guides the coffee and makes sure there is no vacuum.

The V60 is simple and easily cleaned. This is a recipe to kickstart your new home barista career:

  • Put the filter in the V60 and rinse it with hot water
  • Use 12 grams of coffee, ground for paper filter
  • Pour 50 ml of water (95ºC) in a spiraling motion, wait 30 seconds
  • Pour another 50 ml of water, start in the center and spiral your way outwards
  • After a minute pour the last 100 ml of water, totaling 200 ml
  • Bob's your uncle!
