This natural coffee is dried on raised beds in its own fruit. For around 12 to 20 days it is hand-turned and picked over to remove any defect beans. This process gives extra fruity and sweet flavors.
Kayon Mountain Coffee Farm is situated in the southern part of Ethiopia, about 320 miles from the capital city Addis Ababa. Historically, coffees from the Guji Zone have been exported as a Sidamo type. After many years of lobbying, the Guji Zone was given its own geographical distinction. While the cup profile is quite similar to Sidamo coffees, some people - incluiding us - feel that there is a ‘little something special’ in the terroir of Guji.
